Columbia County Deputy Fired After Drug Investigation

(PORTAGE) The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office terminated a deputy who was the subject of an investigation into packages delivered to the deputy’s Montello home.

Columbia County Sheriff Roger Brandner said Friday that the probationary deputy, who has not been identified, was no longer with the department.

A search warrant showed the U.S. Postal Service uncovered possible improper prescription drug shipments to a Montello home.

Brandner said Columbia County conducted an internal investigation and came to the decision to terminate the deputy’s employment.
