City Administrator Talks New DPW Drop-Off Site, Hours

(Beaver Dam) City leaders are reminding the public of a new entrance and hours for Beaver Dam’s yard waste drop-off site. Administrator Nathan Thiel detailed the changes during a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment.

“The drop-off site has changed where you go…you’re going to go to West South Street to the drop-off site…it used to be on South Center Street,” says Thiel. “We’ve repaved the whole area…we’ve really updated [it]…I think it’s a pretty slick operation now. And we also increased the hours…Monday through Friday 7am to 7pm.”

Saturday hours will remain the same, from 8am to noon through November 23rd. The site can also be accessed on holidays that land on weekdays. Thiel notes that there are security measures in place.

“[There] is video surveillance which allows us to make sure that there aren’t any bad actors,” says Thiel. “Just so we know…if there is abuse…we’ll have to change the hours.”

The drop-off site is for Beaver Dam residents only. No contractors are allowed to dispose of any materials and dumping illegal items is not permitted.
