Children’s Radiothon Seeks To Break $2-Million Dollar Mark

(Beaver Dam) The WBEV/WXRO Children’s Radiothon is here. The 27-hour marathon broadcast benefits 14 local charities, getting underway with a live, on-air auction Thursday morning at 6am and continuing through 9am Friday morning.

Noel’s Angel Walk is at Waterworks Park with registration at 6am Thursday and the walk beginning at 7am.

John Kraft is traveling around the county Thursday as the organizations benefitting from the Radiothon compete to raise funds with the winner taking home the Annual DCS Trophy Cup.

Brenda Murphy is hosting an on-air dessert auction from 9am through 11am.

There will be a brat fry in downtown Beaver Dam with live music, Nate’s Lemonade Stand and several area businesses giving a portion of sales to the fundraiser.

Thursday night, the Radiothon Bash will be held at Bayside Supper Club in Beaver Dam with bingo, trivia and raffles. The Radiothon Ride leaves Woods Landing at 6pm and wraps up at Bayside around 7:45pm.

There will be 14 agencies benefitting this year. The non-profits include PAVE, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Green Valley Enterprises, the YMCA of Dodge County, Clothes for Kids, the Watertown Family Center, ARC Dodge County, Community Care Preschool, the Dodge County Center for the Arts, Church Health Services, CARE for Dodge County and –new this year – Bo’s Heavenly Club House, the Pregnancy Support Center and the Gathering Source. The 2018 Children’s Radiothon set a new recording raising $136,311.94 bringing the 20-year-total to well over $1.8-million dollars.
