(Waupun) A Fourth of July weekend event returns to Waupun for a seventh straight year. The three-day ‘Celebrate Waupun’ festival starts Friday afternoon (6/29) and runs through Sunday at Tanner Park. The event includes a carnival midway, food tent, a kid’s zone and a teen zone along with plenty of live music. Gates open Friday at 4pm, and firefighter water barrel fights start at 6pm. There is music Friday from the Mecan River Ramblers and Grand Union. Saturday kicks off with the REACH Waupun 5K Fun Run at 8am with music from Big and Tall, Rosetti and Wigley and Boogie and the Yo-Yo’z. Sunday’s activities include the Waupun Car Show from 8am until 4pm and firework at 10pm. Music will be provided by Kevin Fayt and the Hi-Tones, Santana tribute act Abraxis and Separate Ways, a Journey cover band. Festival admission and parking are free.
