Cause Of Structure Fire In Westford Under Investigation

(Westford) Several local departments responded to a structure fire in the town of Westford Monday evening. The Beaver Dam Fire Department responded to W10438 County Road CC around 6:13pm and requested mutual aid to assist with the incident.

Upon arrival, crews quickly made entry to the building and extinguished the blaze while additional personnel conducted a search of the structure to make sure it was empty. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours to conduct overhaul operations and confirm the flames were fully extinguished.

The homeowners were not at the residence at the time of the fire. One firefighter was injured and evaluated at the emergency department as a precaution. The cause remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were fire departments from Burnett, Randolph, Horicon, Fox Lake, Juneau and Waupun. Hustisford and Watertown Fire Departments staffed the Beaver Dam station for the duration of the event.
