Carrick Assault Sentencing

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man charged with assaulting an unconscious woman entered into a plea deal yesterday (Wednesday). Steven Carrick entered a no contest plea to a felony count of Second Degree Sexual Assault and two misdemeanor charges of Fourth Degree Sexual Assault. The court withheld finding guilt on the felony charge and placed Carrick into a deferred prosecution agreement. Meaning he will avoid a felony record if he stays out of trouble for three years. Carrick was found guilty on the misdemeanor charges and was placed on probation for two years. According to the criminal complaint, the 24-year-old met the victim through a dating app and she visited him at his apartment in April of 2019. The 17-year-old told police that she fell asleep on Carrick’s bed and when she awoke, he was on top of her.
