Carlyn A. Fischer, age 84, of Cambria, WI, passed away peacefully on her birthday, March 26, 2026, at At Home Again Assisted Living in Rio. A day that once marked the beginning of her life became a quiet and meaningful close to a life well lived.
She was born March 26, 1942, in Beaver Dam, WI; daughter of Alfred and Glorein (Oestreich) Wendlandt. Carlyn grew up with strong family values that remained with her throughout her life. On October 8, 1983, she was united in marriage with Richard Fischer at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Together, they built a life rooted in love, companionship, and dedication, and raised their daughter, Sarah.
Carlyn found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a special love for gardening and took great pride in caring for her flower beds, always tending to them with patience and care. She cherished time spent outdoors, appreciating the beauty of nature in every season. Above all, Carlyn treasured the moments she shared with her family. Whether through quiet visits or time spent together, those memories were the most meaningful to her.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of home, and her devotion to those she held dear. Carlyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Carlyn is survived by her loving husband, Richard Fischer; daughter, Sarah Fischer (Matthew Perry) ; granddaughter, Cierra Schildgen; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Glorein Wendlandt; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean (Merlin) Birkholz and Beverly (Leonard) Neumann; her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald (Beverly) Wendlandt; and her nephews, Ricky Neumann and Randy Neumann.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 6 at 11 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Pardeeville with Rev. James Plocher officiating. Interment will take place at Cambria Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 A.M. until the time of service at the church Monday. Grasse Funeral Service in Pardeeville is serving the family.
