(Fond du Lac) A Dodge County bus driver was involved in an accident in the township of Fond du Lac Monday morning. Sheriff’s deputies were called to Highway 23 just west of Esterbrook Road around 7:18am for a report of a bus versus passenger car crash.
Upon arrival, it was determined that there were no injuries stemming from the collision. The involved school bus belonged to Johnson School Bus Services and was operated by a 24-year-old Theresa man.
Authorities say the bus had been stopped westbound on 23 picking up a juvenile passenger. Only two other occupants were on the bus at the time. As the bus began moving forward, a car driving by a 16-year-old male from Ripon collided with the rear of the bus.
The front end of the car ended up underneath the bus. Law enforcement note that all of the warning lights had been activated on the school bus prior to the crash. The 16-year-old was issued a citation for causing the accident.
