(UNDATED) The government shutdown is disrupting travel plans. Commercial airline activity is cut back 10% at 40 major airports to alleviate stress on air traffic controllers who are working without pay during the longest federal government shutdown in U.S. history.
Wisconsin’s Caitlin Ladner told ABC News she was planning to fly to North Carolina to surprise her parents.
“It was definitely disappointing,” said Ladner. “We’d been planning it for a while, and it’s pretty upsetting.”
No Wisconsin airports are on that list, but Midway and O’Hare airports in Chicago and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport are.
