Cambria-Friesland High School is celebrating 50 years of girls sports at the school on Wednesday, December 27th.
In 1973 girls sports were recognized for the first time at Cambria-Friesland High School with the addition of girls basketball and volleyball. All former player, fans and supporters of the school are invited to a family event at the high school that starts at 4pm.
The program will include basket raffles, free throw contests and a three-point contest for people of all ages. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a meal of Cheesy potato with ham, chili, hamburger vegetable, pulled pork, dessert and drink for just $10. From 4pm to 5:30pm, Cheryl Mohr will hold a shooting clinic for kids grades three to eight.
At 6:30pm there will be a program to recognize athletes and coaches who have been a part of girls athletics for the Hilltoppers over the years. Mohr will be a guest speaker, along with former Cambria-Friesland coach Frank Nehring.
The basket raffle drawing and shooting contest awards will be at 7:30pm.
