(BEAVER DAM) People in Beaver Dam can start clearing out yard debris next week as the city’s monthly brush pickup returns for the season.
The first collection runs April 1 through April 7 and continues during the first week of each month through November. The service is available to people who receive city garbage pickup, including single-family homes and buildings with up to four units.
City officials say brush and small tree limbs should be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day during that first week. Crews will only pick up once per month, and anything left out at other times could lead to a warning or a charge to remove it.
Branches should be cut to manageable sizes and stacked neatly with the ends facing the street. The service is meant for routine yard trimming, not for removing entire trees or large clearing projects.
If you miss pickup, you can still bring yard waste to the city’s drop-off site on 205 West South Street, which is open weekdays and limited hours on Saturdays starting April 4.
One more note this spring — the city says it will not offer a leaf pickup.
