Betty J. Hummelmeier, age 82 of Beaver Dam, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh.
Betty was born on April 28, 1942, to Gomer and Winnifred Pritchard in Columbus and graduated from Fall River High School. On May 25, 1963, Betty married Gerald Hummelmeier and together they had two children: Craig and Todd. Throughout her life she worked at Green Giant in Beaver Dam and Wisconsin Cheeseman in Sun Prairie, but settled later on at Specialties Incorporated (Mickelberryโs) where she worked for more than 30 years until retirement. Betty liked to travel, especially to Branson, Missouri, with Gerry to see the shows. They also would travel Wisconsin to go eat on Fridays and Saturdays. Many times they were asked about restaurants around the state and the probability they ate there was a good one.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Gomer and Winnefred Pritchard; in-laws, Carl and Clara Hummelmeier; sons, Craig and Mark (infant); and other relatives.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Hummelmeier; son, Todd and daughter-in-law, Terry Hummelmeier; grandchildren, Lindsey VandeKolk, Adam Hummelmeier, Cole Hummelmeier, and Clara Hummelmeier; great-grandchild, Breslin VandeKolk; sister, Sandra Koehn; and further survived by many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial gathering for Betty will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
