Berens to Appear at Data Center Town Hall

(JUNEAU) The fight against data centers in Beaver Dam is getting help from one of Wisconsin’s favorite home-grown entertainers next week.

Comedian Charlie Berens will be the featured speaker at an event called The People’s Town Hall on Tuesday, March 10, at the community center in Juneau. Organizers say they’re holding the event because Beaver Dam leaders have declined to let people with concerns about data centers have a voice.

Berens is lending his drawing power to a number of town hall-style events around Wisconsin critical of data centers. In January, Berens told NBC 26 he hopes that by spreading information, he can help protect rural Wisconsin.

“Small towns are the backbone of Wisconsin,” he said. “An AI data center is massive, and it can completely change a community, and people don’t really know that until it’s too late.”

The People’s Town Hall starts at 6:30 p.m. and is scheduled to last two hours.
