Saturday, May 16th, the Beaver Dam Trap Team traveled to the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association grounds in Rome, WI to participate in the KMTC conference final. A total of 20 teams participated in this event, with 578 athletes competing. This was the final event for the 2026 conference season. The weather was warm and sunny, but high winds made things challenging for all the teams.
Beaver Dam’s Varsity team performed well, finishing 3rd out of the 20 team field. The final score for Varsity was 478/500. With the 3rd place finish in the final, Varsity also finished the conference season in 3rd place in the Southern Division. The top 5 Varsity scores from Saturday were:

Beaver Dam’s JV squad also had a good showing, finishing in 4th place with a final score of 428/500. JV finished the conference season in 2nd place in the Southern Division. The top 5 JV scores were:

Clayton Paul-84
Conner Schade and Oliver Buchda each had a 50 straight.
Preston Lund, Alex Radichel, Parker Martin, TJ Rechek, and Claire Buchda each had a round of 25 straight.
Conference awards were also handed out after the event. Beaver Dam team members earned quite a few honors. For the conference final, Sophia Koller made the 2nd team Varsity for females with a score of 91. Parker Martin-97, and Oliver Buchda-96 made the 2nd team Varsity for males. Kensie Reifsnider-85 and Claire Buchda-85 made the 1st team JV for females.
For the conference season, Preston Lund earned 1st team Varsity honors for males with a season score of 521/550 targets. Conner Schade-504/550 and Parker Martin-501/550 made the 2nd team Varsity for males for the season. Mae Armstrong made the 1st team Varsity for females with a season score of 476/550. Rya Sutton-448/550 and Kaitlynn Jameson-440/550 earned 2nd team Varsity female awards.
Coming up this week, Beaver Dam will host their annual invitational tournament. Over 550 competitors and their families will be at the conservation club over the weekend.
