Beaver Dam High School senior Taylor Post helped lead the Wisconsin Adaptive Sports Association (WASA) wheelchair basketball team to a third-place finish at the National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament in West Monroe, Louisiana, this weekend.
Ranked sixth in the nation, WASA opened the tournament with a thrilling 50–49 victory over No. 11 Brooks Bullsharks. They followed that with a 62–58 win against No. 3 RHI Racers. WASA’s run to the championship game was halted by No. 2 Kansas Kings in the national semifinal, but the team bounced back to defeat No. 5 Charlotte Rollin Hornets 54–35 to secure third place.
Post averaged 15 points per game during the national championships. In addition to his on-court performance, he earned Second Team All-Tournament Academic honors and received the Neal R. Radbel Sportsmanship Award.
Post has committed to continue his wheelchair basketball career at the University of Arizona, the defending national champion.
