Beaver Dam Sends Three Athletes to WIAA State Track Meet

BEAVER DAM, Wis. — Beaver Dam High School will be represented by three student-athletes at the 2026 WIAA State Track & Field Championships after strong performances at the Division 1 Sectional hosted in Beaver Dam.

Senior Owen Hemling punched his ticket to state in the boys pole vault, finishing third with a personal-best clearance of 12 feet, 6 inches.

Junior Lucy Gonzalez earned a state berth in the girls 300-meter hurdles, placing second while setting a new school record with a time of 45.14 seconds.

Senior Taylor Post continued his dominance in the boys wheelchair division, winning sectional titles in the 400 meters, 800 meters, 1,600 meters, and shot put. Post also recorded a personal-best time in the 400 meters and shotput.

The 2026 WIAA State Track & Field Championships will be held June 5-6 in La Crosse.
