The Beaver Dam High School football team kept themselves in position to earn a WIAA playoff bid with a huge 26-21 win at Oregon Friday in Badger Large Conference action.
Sophomore Gabe Klatt ran for 255 yards and a pair of TDs in the win, while Camron Mendoza thew TD passes of 17 and 31 yards to Alex Soto. Mendoza also ran for 50 yards as BDHS rolled up over 300 yards on the ground. The Golden Beaver defense also came up big, stuffing Oregon’s (2-4, 1-3) game opening drive at the 1-yard line after chewing the 7:30 off the game clock. The BD defense also made a huge fourth down stop late in the game with the Panthers driving for a potential game winning TD.
The Beaver Dam (3-3, 2-2) win moves the Golden Beavers one step closer to a playoff spot. Teams in the Badger Large need four conference wins to secure a post-season bid. BD will host Janesville Craig next Friday night at HH Derleth Field.
