(BEAVER DAM) Beaver Dam residents can help search for aquatic invasive species along local waterways. The Rock River Coalition is hosting the event at Edgewater Park on August 9th starting at 8:30am.
It is part of a statewide effort called Snapshot Day which aims to protect Wisconsinโs streams, lakes, and wetlands. Those interested will meet Rock River Coalition staff at the park where they will receive a brief but thorough training on how to identify invasive species.
From there, volunteers will venture out to several designated sites along local Beaver Dam water bodies and conduct monitoring to determine whether the site contains those aquatic invasive species.
Events are also being hosted in Madison, Elkhorn, Jefferson, Hartland, and other locations across the state.
