Beaver Dam Police Charities, K9 Unit planning June golf outing

The Beaver Dam Police Charities and K9 Unit Golf Outing is scheduled for June 27 at Beaver Dam Country Club.

Officer Matt Bublitz said during WBEVโ€™s Community Comment that the outing is the main annual fundraiser for both the police departmentโ€™s K9 program and Beaver Dam Police Charities. He said proceeds are split evenly between the two.

Bublitz said the K9 fund helps cover expenses tied to the departmentโ€™s police dogs, including training, equipment, vehicle needs and general upkeep. The Beaver Dam Police Departmentโ€™s K9 page says the cityโ€™s police canine program dates back to 1992 and currently lists K9 Boomer as part of the program.

The police charities side supports local organizations and community events. According to the city, Beaver Dam Police Charity is a 501(c)(3) organization made up of full-time law enforcement officers and clerical staff. Its mission is to support and engage the community through donations to local sports groups, school groups and other organizations.

Bublitz said the June 27 outing includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a light breakfast, two complimentary drink tickets, lunch and awards. Police are also looking for golfers, hole sponsors and raffle prize donations.

Registration information is available through the Beaver Dam K9 Unit and Beaver Dam Police Department Facebook pages, or by contacting Officer Bublitz at the police department.
