Beaver Dam Pepper Festival Returns Saturday

(Beaver Dam) The ninth annual Beaver Dam Pepper Festival will be held this weekend at the Park Village Shopping Center. The event celebrates the sweet, mild vegetable – or technically fruit – that originated in Hungary and its appearance in America dates back to 1912. The origin of its original name is unclear, some call it the Hungarian Pepper, but it came to be widely known across the country as the Beaver Dam Pepper.

There will be food, beverages, kids activities, music, a smoothie bike, and the chili cook-off with a $100 first place cash price.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the non-profit: Dodge County Center for the Arts. The Beaver Dam Pepper Festival will run from 9am to 4pm Saturday at the Park Village Shopping Center off Highways 33 and 151.
