Beaver Dam Musician Inducted Into Western Swing Society Hall Of Fame

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam musician has been inducted into the Western Swing Society Hall of Fame. Mark Malak is a steel guitar virtuoso who goes by the stage name Eddie Rivers. Relocating from Beaver Dam Wisconsin to Austin Texas in 2004, Malak became the longest serving steel guitar player in the storied history of the Grammy Award-winning band Asleep at the Wheel. He has appeared on over 40 commercial music releases and has toured all 50 states, Canada and beyond. Malak was recognized at the Western Swing Society’s Hall Of Fame event in Sacramento, California on October 3 and the plaque just arrived in the mail. 

Earlier this year, Malak was named the Beaver Dam Unified School District’s Outstanding Alumni for the year 2020. Western Swing Music takes a jazz approach to musical elements including blues, Dixieland, ragtime, big-band, swing, and country.
