Beaver Dam Man Critically Injured In Motorcycle Versus Deer Collision

(Westford) A motorcyclist was seriously injured after striking a deer Tuesday night in the Town of Westford. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says the crash occurred around 11:15pm on State Highway 73, just north of County Road G. The Beaver Dam man was northbound, unable to avoid the deer in the roadway, when he collided with the animal. The 41-year-old was thrown from the bike resulting in critical, life-threatening head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet and flown by Med Flight to UW-Madison Hospital. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor; however, a 24-year-old male operating a separate motorcycle in the group was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated.  Neither person’s name is being released at this time.
