(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man accused of running from police has made his initial appearance in court. Dylan Brzezinski is facing a felony count of Fleeing. The charge stems from an early morning incident last Friday, October 27th.
A Beaver Dam police officer observed a vehicle speeding on Park Avenue. The officer activated their emergency lights and sirens but the suspect accelerated away, according to the complaint.
The vehicle was reportedly clocked going 45-to-50-miles-per-hour on South Center Street before going through a stop sign at Rosendale and Curie Street then stopping at the intersection of Curie and Madison Street. The suspect briefly stuck their hands through a window and the sunroof before taking off again.
Shortly after, the suspect stopped and got out before returning to his vehicle. The pursuit ended on County Road C when the driver, allegedly identified as Brzezinski, got out of his car a third time and was struck in the chest by a bean bag round. When asked why he did not stop, Brzezinski reportedly said he felt like he was in a video game.
If convicted, the 22-year-old faces up to three-and-a-half years in prison. Cash bond was set at $1,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 30th.
