The Beaver Dam American Legion Tornados softball team will be playing for a state championship later today at the inaugural state tournament in DeForest. The Tornados advanced to the championship with an exciting 9-7 win over Waupun on Saturday. C. Kasuboski had a pair of doubles and drove in three in the victory. Addy Damon pitched five and two thirds innings to pick up the win while Emma Julka notched the save.
Waupun plays West Salem this morning with hopes of earning a rematch with Beaver Dam this afternoon at Noon. Beaver Dam would need to just just once today to earn the state title.
Watertown was knocked out of the tournament with a 5-2 loss to West Salem on Saturday night.
