(BEAVER DAM) Beaver Dam has a new fire lieutenant — and he’s following in his father’s footsteps.
Kyle Neuman has been promoted to lieutenant with the Beaver Dam Fire Department, taking on the same rank his father held before retiring after more than three decades of service.
Neuman is a 12-year veteran of the fire service. He first joined the Beaver Dam department as a paid-on-call firefighter in 2014, serving until 2019. He then worked full time with the McFarland Fire Department for three years before returning home to Beaver Dam in 2022.
His father, Don Neuman, served the Beaver Dam community for 33 years as a paid-on-call firefighter and retired as a lieutenant. Now, his son steps into that same leadership role.
Fire Chief Michael Wesle said Neuman is known for staying calm under pressure and leading by example. Colleagues describe him as dependable and professional, with a steady presence on calls.
Department leaders say they look forward to Neuman’s continued service in his new role, helping guide crews and protect people across the Beaver Dam community.
