Beaver Dam Fire Department Conducted Over 12,000 Hours Of Training In 2024

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Fire Department completed over 12,000 hours of training in 2024. One of those trainings was called “Man vs. Machinery” hosted by PL Volcan Fire Training Concepts from the East Coast.

“They have instructors that came to Beaver Dam from the City of New York, from Boston, some from Pennsylvania,” says Fire Chief Michael Wesle. “And so, these are guys who have a lot of experience with these special situations.”

Wesle says the training covered everything from someone getting stuck under a vehicle to something basic such as cutting off a ring. The Chief says that the department is very fortunate to have the backing of the city council and Police and Fire Commission.

“They know that we want to be prepared for any emergency, and so, we have the opportunity to send people to trainings across Wisconsin, and on occasion out of state.”

One of those locations that trainees get sent to is Indianapolis for live fire training.
