Beaver Dam DPW: Keep Sidewalks Clear Of Snow And Ice

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Public Works Department is reminding residents and property owners to keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice. DPW officials say if snow and ice remain on sidewalks for more than 24 hours, the public works crew will clear the sidewalk and assess the property owner.

Only one warning will be issued per year. Citizens are asked not to deposit any snow into or across city streets. If you live on a corner lot, DPW officials ask to assist them by clearing snow and ice from the crosswalk.

When removing snow from the sidewalk, shovel or blow snow away from the terrace and street. This will keep the snowbanks in the terrace lower for increased visibility and provide more space for snow that is plowed from the streets.

A salt and sand mix is available to all city residents during winter months to assist in keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice. The mix is located in a bunker at the city garage at 205 West South Street. It is available for pick up 24 hours per day seven days a week. Residents must bring their own bucket or container to place the mixture in.
