(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Common Council Monday night authorized the mayor to take any necessary steps to prevent the spread of COVID. Amendments to impose a mask mandate on city properties failed as did an effort to make any of the mayor’s decisions subject to council approval. The city is currently only recommending that masks be worn indoors. Officials indicated that alderpersons with concerns could request to attend council meetings by video conferencing, which had been an option. The mayor had called all elected officials back to in-person meetings in May.
