(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Common Council approved a resolution to establish a Watermark Community Center Fund. The fund is in association with the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation Family of Funds. The money the fund generates will go towards capital improvement, technology purchases and upgrades, facility upgrades and maintenance, and event support at the city owned community center.
“This would also allow for individuals who would like to make donations towards the community center and the Watermark…to do that using the 501c3 status,” says City Administrator Nathan Thiel. “These aren’t really city funds…these are donations that have been received and establishing a fund with the Foundation that can be utilized for the community center.”
Thiel says the city has created similar funds for the city’s police and fire departments.
