(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam residents who receive contracted solid waste collection services from the city can now place Christmas trees and boughs on their curb for pickup. Trees and boughs must be free of ornaments, lights, and stands so they can be chipped.
The city will not collect trees that are in a bag. Citizens can also dispose of their Christmas greenery, meeting the same criteria, at the yard waste drop-off site at 640 South Center Street Monday through Friday between 7:30am and 3pm.
No waste of any kind is accepted from outside of the city or from any contractors. City officials say wreaths and boughs containing roping or wire may be placed in your non-recyclable cart for collection as garbage.
However, they add that greenery with ropes will not be accepted at the public works garage drop-off site. The Christmas tree pickup will continue through January 27th.
