(Beaver Dam) Two Dodge County employers have joined a statewide effort to help workers save for emergencies. The Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce and the City of Mayville are now part of the Wisconsin Saves pledge. A total of 71 Wisconsin employers have joined the cause. The initiative focuses on the role of small to mid-size employers in promoting the benefits of saving automatically through split deposit to their employees. The Wisconsin Saves effort is led by the state treasurer, Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, CEO of the Wisconsin Bankers Association, and Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation president. Officials say the employers joined after recognizing many individuals were not fully prepared for the lasting economic impacts of the pandemic. They add that these organizations are demonstrating their commitment to the financial well being of their employees and they are hopeful that it will help more Wisconsinites be prepared for unexpected expenses.
