(Beaver Dam) The public is invited to attend a community presentation by the Beaver Dam Action Plan Committee. The presentation will showcase the committee’s ideas, concepts, and recommendations for the city’s comprehensive plan. More than 40 members of the community signed up to participate on the project’s committee at the kickoff meeting held in December.
City Administrator Nathan Theil says since then, the committee formed seven subcommittees each focusing on a specific topic of the comprehensive plan primary sections.
“They’ve been researching their topics…so, for instance, one committee has been reviewing all things transportation…roads and conditions,” says Thiel. “They’ve been researching not only what the city has done but they’re also going out and looking at what other committees are doing…and putting together ideas and thoughts as far as what we can do in our community to improve it.”
The other subcommittees have been researching public facilities, land use, housing and neighborhoods, economic development, and parks, trails, as well as recreation.
The community presentation will be on May 16th at the Beaver Dam high school auditorium. A public social hour will be held from 5pm to 6pm with the presentation getting underway at 6pm.
