(BEAVER DAM) If you see something, say something. That’s the message from the Beaver Dam Police Department as students return to the classroom.
School Resource Officer Matt Edwards says law enforcement needs information that the public provides to do their jobs effectively. He highlights the Speak Up, Speak Out agency that allows students to confidentially report tips to authorities.
“They get the form and then they actually email it to admin and all the school resource officers as well,” says Edwards. “Which is really handy for us because then if you don’t want to come talk to somebody or you don’t want to come to the office to let us know…you can go on your computer or on your phone…submit it to the state…the state sends the email to us or even calls us depending on what level of threat it is so we can start investigating right away.”
