BDHS Football Gearing Up For 2022 Season

After a return to the playoffs in 2021, the Beaver Dam High School football team has been working hard this offseason both in the weight room and during their coaching contact days as they get ready for the 2022 season.

“I think our kids understand the work that needs to be done in the weight room in order to have success on the field.  I think for a lot of years we were lacking in our strength, our speed and our explosion and it shows on the field.” Head Coach Brock Linde told “ I think last year for the for people that watched closely they can see we were making good positive steps in competing with those upper level teams and our kids have bought in and they love the weight room.  They bring the energy every single day and we are proud of all the work they put in.”

The BDHS coaching staff has spread their contact days over the last two week.

“The number one most important thing we stress is having fun.” Linde said. “Football is a really tough sport.  It demands a lot from the kids physically and mentally.  We want to continue to grow our numbers and grow our program.   Obviously, we want to install some base offensive and defensive things. We want to get a look at people in different positions, but we are not making a depth-chart yet.”

When camp opens up the first week of August, Coach Linde expects to have about 100 players in the high school program.

Beaver Dam will have another workout today then head to West Bend on Thursday for a dual practice with West Bend East.  The first official practice for the 2022 season is Tuesday, August 2nd.  Beaver Dam opens the season on Friday night, August 19th when they host Monroe in a game you can watch on DailyDodge TV.

There are a couple of opportunities to support the Beaver Dam football program in the coming weeks.  The community coupon books go on sale August 1st for $30.  You can contact a BDHS football player to purchase a book and save some money at businesses around the area.    On Sunday, August 7th the annual Flattail Club Golf Outing is at Old Hickory for more information contact Coach Brock Linde, or any member of the Flattail Club.  You can also find more information at Old Hickory.
