BDACT: Deadline Approaching For Engraved Granite Floor Tiles

12/26/17 – People interested in contributing to the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre Fine Arts Center have one more week to get their name on a granite floor tile. Ground was broken last month on the $2.7-million-dollar, 22-thousand-square-foot building that will include a state-of-the-art, handicapped accessible auditorium with 350 seats, a larger stage with a proscenium and curtain, an orchestra pit, dressing rooms, and a scene shop to construct sets. Another 300-thousand dollar’s still needs to be raised. The fundraising campaign offers donors an opportunity to sponsor 12-by-12-inch engraved granite stone floor tiles in the main lobby entrance. The granite tiles can be inscribed for $900 dollars apiece and orders must be in Tuesday, January 2nd. Fundraising Co-Chair Annette Kamps says it is a great opportunity for individuals and businesses to be permanently enshrined in the new theatre. In addition to granite floor tiles, engraved personalized nameplates can be obtained at any time for individual seats in the main auditorium. The seats and floor tiles can be purchased outright, paid monthly or paid over several years. For example, a $750 seat sponsorship can be paid at $250-per year or just under $21-per month for three years. There is also a main donor wall planned for those who contribute over $1000. Kamps says potential donors may also want to keep in mind the possibility of contributing through an asset transfer. Because the theatre is a registered 501C3 non-profit, assets can be transferred without paying a capital gains tax. The new Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre Fine Arts Center is expected to be open next fall. For more information on the project and on donating, you can visit www.bdact.org.
