(Dodge County) The Friends of Dodge County Parks recently received a $1,000 grant from the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation for the Gold Star Memorial Trail Project. The grant will assist in funding the design and engineering stage of Phase of the trail from Horicon to the Wild Goose State Trail along highway 33.
Final plans, specifications and estimates are expected to be complete by Fall of 2025, with trail construction slated for spring of 2026. The Friends of Dodge County Parks, Inc. is a nonprofit organization focusing on fundraising and support to Dodge County for increasing recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.
The Friends group was initially organized in 1986 to promote development of the Wild Goose State Trail.ย
