(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation recently gave grant funds to support a local youth program. The nonprofit announced that they have provided a $1,000 grant to the Beaver Dam Fire Department Cadet Program.
The grant money is goingย towards new gear for the cadets such as boots, gloves, and turnout gear. The Beaver Dam Cadet program allows high school students to get a head start in the fire and EMS career field.
The cadets have two training nights a month. The first training of each month is EMS related and the second training of the month is fire related.
The goal of the program is to give the students a head start in the career field and give back to the community through community service.
