Beaver Dam Chamber Announces Emerging Leader Award Winners

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Chamber of Commerce is Recognizing two individuals for the 3rd annual presentation of the Emerging Leader Award this week. The Black Ties and Blue Jeans Awards Gala will be on April 24th at the Bayside Supper Club. The Emerging Leader Award recognizes a high school or post-secondary student who has made a โ€œsignificant impact and positive difference in Beaver Damโ€ through their leadership efforts and activities.

Jaelyn Klatt (BELOW) is a senior at Beaver Dam High School who is a former volunteer and current client advocate at PAVE. At PAVE she has helped with sending out letters, collecting donations, assisting with shelter property cleanup, and more. She is also a Cadet Captain position in the Beaver Dam Fire CADET program, where she oversees engagement, fundraising, and participates in 911 EMS or paramedic calls. Along with all of this, Klatt is a part of several other community based clubs while maintaining academic success. She plans to study Biology at UW Lacrosse.

Rylee Dickinson (BELOW) was both a summer substitute teacher as well as an assistant in the four-year-old kindergarten class at Community Care Preschool and Child Care. As the first apprentice of Beaver Dam High School Early Education, her next step is team-teaching in the toddler room under a mentor. When talking about Dickinson, nominator Renae Henning had this to say; โ€œTeaching is clearly her passion as she works in some capacity with it every day.โ€ Dickinson is an honor roll student in her final semester at BDHS who is enrolled in dual course work. She is also actively involved in the Link Crew that guides incoming freshmen. Dickinson is helping with the Family Career and Community Leaders of America organization at Beaver Dam High School as well. In the Fall, she will be attending UW-Platteville for Education.

Tracy Propst, the Executive Director of the Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce, had this to say about this yearโ€™s inductees, โ€œHigh School and Post-Secondary Students are important to businesses and organizations in our communityโ€ she said. โ€œAnd we wanted to recognize individuals that are making an impact in their community and recognize them.โ€

A $200 check will be awarded to the honoree. According to the press release, the public is welcome to attend the Beaver Dam Area Chamber of Commerceโ€™s Annual Black Ties and Blue Jeans Award Gala on Wednesday, April 24th beginning at 5:30 pm.
