The Beaver Dam High School Bowling teams were in action Sunday at Tower Lanes.
The Boys team looked to continue their undefeated ways but dropped to Watertown in match 1, 7-2. Pin carry was tight for the Beavers and Watertown had them falling in their favor. Senior Adam Paul and Junior Garrett Boettcher both with a strong 13 strike performance in the match. Match 2 was against a Columbus based co-op team and the Beavers found themselves in a 1-3 hole before getting hot and winning 4 of the last 5 games to take the match. Paul and Boettcher added 12 and 10 strikes respectively to place the Beavers in a tie for the district standings after they got some help from Oconomowoc knocking off Watertown in match 2. The day leaps Paul to #2 in District 6 individual standings just a tenth of a percent out of the top spot.
The Girls started the day with a match 1 blowout against Lakeside Lutheran winning 8-1. Senior Sophia Rudie rocked the match with 10 strikes and just 1 open and continues to sit atop the District 6 Girls Individual standings. Match 2 was a back and forth tight match against District 6 Girls leader Watertown. After splitting the first four games, game five ended in a 143 tie. The teams then split the last four games for a total match tie. Rudie fired another 10 strikes in the match to lead the girls. The Beavers are the average leader in Girls District 6 and will see Watertown and Lomira two more times each to pull themselves up from the 3rd spot in the District. Only the first placed team will make the State Tournament in March.
Both Beaver teams will be back on the lanes this Sunday, 12/15 at Watertown Bowl 18.
