BD High School Bowlers In Action

The Beaver Dam Bowling teams were in action this past Sunday at Mapleway Bowl in Oconomowoc.

Was a big day for the boys as the faced division foe Watertown in match 1. The match was a battle of a tough left lane. Beaver Dam had the edge in total pinfall but Watertown won game 3, the only game won on the left lane the entire match. That win was the deciding factor and the Beavers fell to Watertown 4 games to 5. Junior Quinn Warmka hammered out 13 strikes in the match while Senior Garrett Boettcher added 12 strikes. The Beaver boys swept match 2 against the Lakeside Lutheran girls. There is now a 3 way tie for first place between BD, Watertown, and Oconomowoc. The Beavers need a win against Oconomowoc the next meet to force a roll off with Watertown for the district crown and a state tournament bid.

The Beavers girls took on Oconomowoc boys in match 1 and made it very interesting. After falling in the first 3 games, BD clawed back to tie the match 4-4 going in to the final game. A win for the girls creates just a two way tie in the boys division and would take a little pressure off the boys state tournament hopes. Oconomowoc tossed a four bagger in the beginning of the game and BD was never able to overcome, losing the tight match 4-5. Match 2 against the Lomira girls was a 7-2 domination for the Beaver girls. BD is now 2 points behind Watertown girls. BD needs to win both matches and hope for some help to have Watertown lose both matches at the next meet. This will create a roll off for the district crown in the girls division.

The next match will be Sunday January 25th at Rock River Lanes in Fort Atkinson.
