BD Girls Hockey Falls To Badger Lightning

The Beaver Dam girls hockey team (Overall: 0-8, Badger: 0-4) hung tough with the Badger Lighting (Baraboo, Reedsburg, Mauston, Royall)  before falling 5-1 on Thursday night at the Family Center.  Junior Dayna Jones beat Lightning goalie Kaitlin Elder over the right shoulder at 15:44 of the 1st period to tie the game at one heading to the 1st intermission.   Sophomore Autumn Nelson got the assist.  That’s all the scoring BD would get for the rest of the night as the Lightning scored a pair of goals in both the 2nd and 3rd periods.  Golden Beaver junior goalie Abby Okon stood tall in net turning back 49 Lighting shots for the night.  Beaver Dam was outshot 54-7 for the game.  Senior Kaylee Engel had a four point night for the Lighting (Overall: 2-8, Badger 1-5) with a pair of goals and a pair of assists. Fellow senior Ellie Goethel had 2 goals and an assist in the win.  Beaver Dam will next be in action on Thursday, January 16th when they head to the Madison Ice Arena to face the Metro Lynx.  The puck drops at 7pm.
