The Wisconsin Bandits U14 Gold travel fastpitch softball team based out of Horicon went 9-0 and won the 55 team Midwest Firecracker Softball Showcase in Westfield, Indiana over the 4th of July weekend. After going 5-0 in pool play, the Bandits swept four games on Sunday to win the championship. In the title game on Sunday night, the Bandits’ Gabby Fakes hit a two-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 6th to defeat the Michiana (MI) Lady Scrappers 6-5. The walk-off dinger was Fakes’ second of the game.
The Bandits are now 45-8-3 on the season and are next in action July 13th to the 18th when they head to Kansas City, Missouri for the World Fastpitch Championship USA Elite Select Tournament.
