(Madison) The public is encouraged to head to Madison tonight to greet veterans returning from a day in Washington D.C. Madison-based Badger Honor Flight has its fourth flight for the 2019 season today. Once the flight lands, the veterans will spend the day touring various sites including Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Iwo Jima, World War II, Korean, Vietnam, and Air Force monuments. Upon returning to Madison, Organizer Jim Bublitz encourages the public to arrive at the airport around 7:30pm tonight and says the flight should land around 8:45 pm. Bublitz says there are five veterans from Dodge County joining this flight. In total, there is one World War II veteran, four Korean and 87 Vietnam vets. Bublitz says Badger Honor Flight has flown 3,275 veterans to our nation’s capital. There is one additional flight scheduled this year for November 2. In the past there have been five planned flights each year, organizers are hoping to increase that number to six in 2020.
