(BURNETT) Authorities have identified the people involved in a deadly crash on a Dodge County highway after a driver crossed the centerline and slammed head-on into a semi.
The driver who died at the scene was 33-year-old Justin Dean of Whitewater, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say Dean was the only person inside the passenger car.
The semi driver was identified as 38-year-old Richard Walker of Burnett. He was not injured and was checked out by medical personnel before being released at the scene.
The crash happened just after 6:15 a.m. Thursday on County Highway A near Prospect Road in the Town of Burnett. Deputies say a caller contacted 911 to report a car driving erratically and crossing the centerline northbound near Juneau. A deputy was heading toward the area when the caller reported the car had crashed head-on into a semi.
Emergency crews pronounced Dean dead at the scene.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says the crash remains under investigation.
