Area residents have a new place to drop off food donations this summer. The local Menards home improvement store is serving as a collection site for a food pantry drive during the months of June and July. The drive runs from June 1 through July 31.
Menards officials say the effort is meant to help support local food pantries and provide community members with an easy way to donate non-perishable food items.
Donations can include items such as boxes of cereal, cans of soup, and other shelf-stable groceries. Menards also carries a variety of non-perishable food items in its grocery department for those who would like to purchase something in-store and donate it right away.
A large collection box is located near the store’s exit doors. The food drive is taking place at participating local Menards stores through the end of July.
