(Beaver Dam) The Aging and Disability and Resource Center of Dodge County open enrollment for Medicare is around the corner. Elderly and Disability Benefits Specialist Jennie Farmer says to be aware of green postcards in the mail that say “Dodge County” on them because it is not from the ADRC.
“Our post cards, though, look like a fall background, and say our names on it to remind you that they’re from Jennie, Ashley and Amanda,” says Farmer.
Farmer says that flyers will also be sent out this month. She adds that it is important for those who are satisfied with their current Medicare plan to review it anyway.
“We’ve had people like that,” Farmer says. “And then all the sudden the pharmacy that you like is no longer on that plan because they change their formularies every year. They have different contracts or the prescription you’re on is no longer on that plan, or your doctor changes the prescription you’re on and it’s no longer on that plan.”
She also says that just because someone’s spouse is on the same medical plan as their partner does not mean it is the best plan for them.
