(Fond du Lac) A Fond du Lac firefighter suspect of possessing illicit content of children has been bound over for trial. Edgar Ramirez-Tellez is facing 10 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
During a recent court appearance, Tellez waived his right to a preliminary hearing and during a subsequent arraignment pleaded not guilty to all 10 felony charges.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Tellez’s residence in early August. Authorities say the warrant was the result of child sexual abuse material cyber tips originating on Tellez’s social network accounts. Tellez reportedly admitted to having sexual explicit images and videos of children on his cell phone and tablet that he would bring to work in his lunch cooler.
According to the complaint, some of the content involved children as young as one-to-two years old.
The 18-year veteran of Fond du Lac Fire Department has been placed on administrative leave. If convicted, the 50-year-old Tellez faces up to 250 years in prison.
