Baldwin, Johnson Split on DHS Funding

(WASHINGTON, DC) Funding for the Department of Homeland Security is set to run out at 11 p.m. Friday. Democrats are demanding changes to the way federal immigration agents conduct their raids.

“Just like local law enforcement, ICE should be required to have a judicial warrant before entering and searching homes and businesses, not a blank check to violate the 4th Amendment,” said U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin. (D-Wisconsin)

Federal agents killed two protesters in Minneapolis. U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) blamed Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison for inciting violence during a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing this week.

“A tragedy was going to happen and you encouraged it. And you ought to feel damn guilty about it.”

More than 93% of ICE and Customs and Border Protection agents are expected to remain on the job.
