Back To Back Champs!

Freshman Addysn Mueller scored the game-winning power play goal at 7:05 of the third period to give the Beaver Dam High School girls hockey team a 3-2 victory over Janesville Tuesday night at the Family Center, clinching their second straight outright Badger Conference championship.

Janesville — whose only loss in 2026 came against Beaver Dam on January 14 — struck first at 8:42 of the opening period. Ava Kligora broke free for a power play goal with Micki Andrews earning the assist.

Beaver Dam answered late in the first. Brenna Rhodes evened the score at 16:26 with a power play goal of her own, assisted by Emersen Damon and Olivia Bates.

The Bluebirds regained the lead at 9:18 of the second period when Macy Murphy fired a shot past Beaver Dam goaltender Dot Baker to make it 2-1. Kligora picked up the assist.

Just over three minutes later, the Golden Beavers responded again on the power play. Emersen Damon blasted home a goal at 11:08, with assists credited to Bates and Macy Damon, tying the game at 2-2.

Mueller’s decisive goal came midway through the third period, capitalizing on a rebound from a Rhodes shot. Emersen Damon also assisted on the play.

Baker finished with 13 saves to earn the win in net for Beaver Dam. Janesville’s Jessie Demarasse was outstanding despite the loss, stopping 39 shots for the Bluebirds.

With the victory, Beaver Dam improves to 16-6-1 overall and 11-1 in the Badger Conference, finishing one game ahead of Cap City in the standings. The Golden Beavers close out the regular season at home Thursday night against Arrowhead.

Janesville falls to 9-11-2 overall and 7-5 in conference play. The Bluebirds will host Brookfield in their regular-season finale Thursday.

Beaver Dam has secured the No. 1 seed in the sectional tournament and will host either the Metro Lynx or Stoughton Icebergs in a sectional semifinal matchup on February 24. Janesville will host the Badger Lightning in its playoff opener next week.
