(JUNEAU) A Juneau home is damaged after a fire Saturday night. The Juneau Fire Department reported getting the call at 5:56 p.m. for a home filling up with smoke. Firefighters discovered open flames inside the home’s exterior walls when they started removing them.
The status of the fire was elevated due to changing fire conditions and below zero temperatures.
Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the exterior walls around the chimney. The fire is believed to have started in the chimney area and spread to the exterior walls.
